Am currently ploughing my way thru the roster/sea and altering the ship availability dates - so you dont encounter a c class destroyer in 39 when they are not built till 43 !!! All updated sheets will have all built models with actual date they came in service and date they were sunk too
ie
[UnitClass]
ClassName=DDHuntI
UnitType=4
AppearanceDate=19391212
DisappearanceDate=19460101
DisplayName=BR DD Hunt I
[Unit 1]
Name=HMS Atherstone L.05
DOC=19391212
DOD=19460101
[Unit 2]
Name=HMS Berkeley L.47
DOC=19400129
DOD=19440819
[UnitClass]
ClassName=DDCClass
UnitType=4
AppearanceDate=19430961
DisappearanceDate=19451231
DisplayName=BR DD C Class
[Unit 1]
Name=HMS Caesar R07
DOC=19440214
DOD=19451231
[Unit 2]
Name=HMS Cambrian R.85
DOC=19431210
DOD=19451231
[Unit 3]
Name=HMS Caprice R.01
DOC=19430916
DOD=19451231
will eventually do all just doing british at mo and will post a link to download when available
my little way of contributing as wouldnt know where to begin with new ship etc lol |

I've been doing exactly the same thing for the Germans. The problem is availability isn't determined by when the ship was launched-it is determined by the commissioning date. Fortunately I have those for Germand destroyers, and it means that the first Type 36A doesn't enter service until September 1940, rather than the 1939 date currently in the mods.
Make sure yours aren't still earlier than they should be. |

yes noticed that trouble is a lot of them only have launched not commision dates - still will be more accurate than it is now. one thing i have already noticed is in a couple of the additional destroyer groups - the coddrington class should be the "A" class with HMS Coddrington being part of that class and the "N" class names should all be in "O&P" class. not to sure what to do about the last one cos i dont know if the modded ship is a O&P class or an "N" class. the A class can just rename all the ref to coddrington as "A" ..will no when i run game whether recognition manual has changed to
Best of luck with the german one - are you going to post it somewhere after ? |

I'll have to get it to the library where I post; that could take some time.
I've been running it in my game but the Type 36As are still there, but that's the SCR. I assume it makes a difference in the Random Layer, but the Scripted Layer has to be changed manually, and Rubini has other obligations now.
Since most of the Germans show up in the SCR, it may take some time.
Oh, I also noticed that a lot of the Type 34s and 36As are missing from the game files. I had to add them all in. I'm thinking of doing it for the Americans as well, as I'm sure there were a lot more Fletchers than appear in the game. |

I didn't think that the individual units with DOC/DOD ie
[Unit 1]
Name=HMS Atherstone L.05
DOC=19391212
DOD=19460101
[Unit 2]
Name=HMS Berkeley L.47
DOC=19400129
DOD=19440819
had any effect on the game. I always assumed they were part of an unfinished feature for naming your kills (Like SHIII commander does now). What purpose do they serve? |
