|
|
Hello folks,
I've tried searching here (but search is broken?) and on UBIsoft, but I can't seem to find the answer.
The laptop I'm considering buying comes with the ATI Radeon Xpress 200M chipset, with 128Mb of video memory.
http://www.ati.com/products/radeonxpress200m/specs.html
The specs seem to imply that it would run the game (DX9, PixelShader 2.0), but I'm wondering what you guys think.
The nb CPU is an AMD Trurion 64 2.0GHz, with 1Gb RAM.
Any advice appreciated. |

I have a laptop with an AMD Athelon 4000+ CPU with that video card and it runs well.
The only thing I can't run is the 16 KM atmospheric mod.
I also have 1 Gb of memory

Well I guess that depends on how you define "running"...
I'm using a P-M 1.5G CPU/Radeon Mobile 9200/1GB mem laptop, and I could play SH3.
I mean although it takes 3+ minutes to load a saved game, and whenever there is 3D object (periscope, external view etc.) it will be laggy to death , I could still play it...
The bad thing about laptop is, you can't upgrade your video card...I hate M9200 |

Thanks for the input, guys.
How does the ATI 9200 compare to the Xpress 200M ? I thought I'd read that the 200M was the equivalent to the ATI X300 "desktop" chipset .... |

Quick update on this (probably not very interesting to most), but SH3 runs very nicely on the ATI xpress 200M. Very pleased so far ! |

Not only does it run competently on ATI 200m but also on the Windows XP 64bit operating system. |
