I've met a few famous people/celebrities in my life-
1. President Richard Nixon, Homestead AFB, FL 1972 (shook his hand).
2. Tom Brokaw.
3. Richard Marcinko, Navy SEAL.
4. Stephen Ambrose.
5. Ken Burns and Dayton Duncan.
6. Two of the band members from the "Pretenders"; grabbed the last taxi running and BS'd with them, fun time.
7. Jack Kemp (on campaign swing).
Yours, Mike |

Dunno if Jarvis Cocker from the group 'Pulp' counts as famous But I served him his breakfast a year or so ago. |

Tim Duncan (in college)
Michael and Ken Wallace (NASCAR drivers)
Dick Gephardt (if he counts; breezed past the door I held open for him at Nat'l Airport without even an acknowledgement). |

Off the top of my head:
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the late Lubavichter Rebbe
Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, former Israeli Chief Rabbi, spiritual leader of Israel's Shas political party
Rabbi Israel Meir Lau, former Israeli Chief Rabbi
Ehud Olmert, Israel's current PM - hopefully not for long
Yitzhak Shamir, former Israeli PM
Binyamin Nentanyahu, former Israeli PM
Anatoli Sharansky, Israel Knesset member and former Soviet prisoner of Zion
Shimon Peres, big loser, snake, Nobel Prize winner, Israel Knesset member and former everything else
Leonid Kuchma, former Ukraine President
Dan Kurzer, former US ambassador to Israel
Caroline Glick, Jerusalem Post "Column One" commentator
Benny Begin, former Israeli Knesset member, son of the late Menachem Begin
Aharon Barak, chief justice of Israel's Supreme Court
Half a million other Israeli politicians
Dustin Hoffman, actor
Arnold Shwartzeneger, Governor of California, actor
Yitzchak Perlman, violinist
I almost went to a meeting with Cherry Blair but canceled. No love lost.
That's enough for now.
My husband said that as a child he was once on the Bozo the Clown show. |

Starware Dictionary:
fa·mous (fa'm?s)
adj.
1. Well or widely known. See synonyms at noted.
2. First-rate; excellent: had a famous time at the party.
[Middle English, from Anglo-Norman, from Latin famosus, from fama, fame.]
@ The Avon Lady:
How do you define "famous"? Quote: | Half a million other Israeli politicians | The huge majority of the people you mention seem to fit into neither category.

Ron Hextall (Met him in a goalie crash course)
Patrick Roy (Met him in a goalie crash course)
Felix Potvin (I actually played a few times against him…)
Celine Dion (I never shook her hands, so I do not know if it counts as "met") |

@ The Avon Lady:
Surely nobody (but you) knows half a million famous Israeli politicians.
By the way, when I asked you "How do you define ..." I was using one of your often used quotes in your discussions with others.
You ignored the question...

Obviously, fame can be subjective or limited.
I don't know any Navy Seal personalities myself nor many racing driver names nor several singers mentioned here. |

Luis Inacio Lula da Silva, should have shot him back then. The assassination of Ferdinand led to so many deaths, killing this ArchDouche-bag would've spared many.
Went to the first condominial meeting of my first property in this new land, and found him walking around. He was alot uglier back then, before he decided to create a fake peace&love personna to gain popularity in the Middle Class. He was there to visit a member of his party. A Marxist fellow who died when insisting on using a public hospital, enduring long lines and two medical errors, he had a wife and son. He didn't bothered much with his son, but the kid still insisted on following the footsteps of his father, attempting to inherit some of his father's influence in the party. Really nice people, the lot of them, the little snake can't even take care of his MOTHER! I still have that property, and I am the only one defending the old lady's right to renovate the rooftop, as she lives at the top floor, and the current ceiling is heat-absorbent, the sun is frying the lady to death. Her Son? Where is he?! Why doesn't he care at all?! I know, she's a really nice lady, a woman of peace, she's not a Marxist, her venomous son probably hates her for not embracing the cause, hence, as a good Marxist, he must "deconstruct" his mother to "reconstruct" her, unfortunately, he must've thought, there's no way to erase her memory and implant an indoctrinated new brain. Science can only create bladders, not brains, a free mind is far too powerfull to be tamed, not that he would know that from first hand experience, but he must hope that if she suffers enough insolation and dehydration she will submit, perhaps, maybe, one day, who knows?
If any of you also abandoned your mother to death because she is a better human being than you will ever be, let me know, I have plenty of spare-time to make sure she lives the rest of her life with dignity, I don't waste my time with illusions, nor do I spread lies or incite hatred and violence, but I digress, back to the point: Tell me who you walk with and I'll tell you who you are. |
