My crew seems to have a difficult time being size-appropriate in the sub. I call for silent running - great, no problems; they whisper appropriately. Then, with the DEs barely off our tails, I cancel the silent running and they're like pre-adolescents at Disney Land: "Jawhol, Herr Kaleun! Seerohr tiefe!!!"
They scare the crap out of me. I just want to go to periscope depth; not soil myself... Do any of you game-modding big-brains know how I might tweak just that part of the game's voice volume?

Also, for some reason, the dramatic sound effect for a missing torpedo sounds bizarrely close to - a hitting torpedo. I don't know why the sound announcing a miss would be so much like an explosion, but I'd love to change that. Maybe not a wah-wahhh, but something a little more subtle.
Thanks to all!

I belive you can turn down the voices volume from the game settings. If still not satisfied, you can try fiddling with the sound files yourself. For that you need a sound editor ( a free one is Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/, bu there are many more..check download.com), spare time and patience. Once you load up the sound file you can the adjust the pitch, volume, high pass, low pass etc. You can make a 5 year old sound like a 50 year old in notime. Its quite easy.

Cheers!
