Today is the 80th birthday of the worlds greatest head of state.
Many happy returns.

Yep, and she is looking pretty good for her age I would say. I am a Republican by the way and I suspect Australia will become a Republic by the end of my lifetime.

Laughing Whilst I might be a Republican I honestly don't think it will mean all that much for Australians in their day to day lives if we do change over or some time down the track. So long as we win that urn back from the Poms I will be happy though. Very Happy

If you ever decide to fight for your freedom from the UK give me a call and I’ll lend a hand.

I believe I swore loyalty to the monarch when I received my citizenship, or something to that tune, so I can't fail to raise a salute as a proud royal subjet Smug

To be honest, for all its relative irrelevance, I kind of like the idea of the Queen being my head of state. Not sure why, but I've honestly never had a problem with the royals. :hmm:

Probably because unlike your elected officials they leave you alone. Laughing

Isn't saying things like that in the UK treason? I seem to recall similar comments about a late royal that resulted in a nasty little 5 year long war.
