Because of some programs running (log) apache is reloaded 4 times a day.
We noticed that around 4:20 EST the server was down for at least 40 minutes so we dived into the system and found out that the apache that is on the server has bugs (memory leaks).
We are now gone upgrade that to fix it and Neal has asked the provider to set up an automatic backup system, every week all the data on Hard Drive 1 will be backed up on HD2 and they will upgrade RHEL and Ensim.
All of this can mean that the server goes offline now and then.

I would be intrested to know what versions of Apache were running and what you guys did specifically if possible to fix it..IE upgrade or whatever. At my company we have a computer we setup on Apache to run an internal website for our techs...and randomly it goes offline...we were not sure if it is related to being behind our companies security or what...curious.

Yay! How am I supposed to be able to lurk when there's nothing to lurk on, eh? Answer me that and remain undetected. Wink
