Bill
anyone? Something weird has happened.
I was playing the RSR campaign and I was in mission 3 Bastion gambit and I saved it.
I went back to my campaign and saw the next mission ready but I hadn't completed Bastion gambit.
So I loaded my saved game and sure enough had completed the mission, but there were no mission critical goals.
Nor in the next mission, nor the next.
I am going to reload the missions but something has seriously gone wrong. |

OK just redownloaded and extracted the RSR campaign from Bills site.
Also had a look in the mission editor at a number of missions and there are no critical goals. EG Polar Glory there is the goal to complete the mission, eg destroy a bunch of landing craft but it isn't a critical goal. Is this right Bill? |

When you exited the mission, it was logged as completed.
None of the goals are critical, so you can always advance to the next mission if you quit while alive. |

This reminds me of a question I've been meaning to ask. Are the RSR missions dynamic (or branching) in any way? In other words, does good success in one ever affect the setup for the next?
Thanks. |

Yes, I think Riposte is effected by Polar Glory, and Rendevous is effected by Faslane Departure. Probably others too... |

So they are meant to be that way then?
So where is the challenge, to go forward in the campaign I just have to exit and then go to the next one? |

You can keep playing until you get it right if you want. On the other hand, not marking them critical prevents DW's occasional bugginess from making you waste too much time, and you never get stuck on a tough mission. |

Correct. There are some scenarios that I didn't deem 'critical' to the campaign, so the player can advance to the next mission even if all of the goals weren't accomplished.
Remember, it's the journey, not the destination, that's important \ |

Ah OK
Sorry to sound critical, just got taken a back when I went back into the mission.
I'll continue tonight. |
