** Crosspostd at SimHQ.com, but I figure, that this sim in-progress needs as much attention as it can get **
Hello everyone! Glad to see that there's tanksim forum here now, as Neals site has a huge following, and exposure to this new sim is important to the devs and producer. That's why I am posting this here, too:
It's my great pleasure to show you the first, authentic 3D Model shots of a new, not yet announced WW2 Tank Sim due out in Late 2006.
We all have been waiting for THAT ONE hard-core WW2 Tank Sim since "Panzer Elite", and this one is going to be "it".
I am in contact with the main-guy of the development team and would be happy to forward your thoughts, wishes and ideas to him.
Here are the first 3D-Model-Shots of that sim; please don't judge the textures, as they're a just placeholder...
And please don't forget that this is still a "work in progress".

The Developers are asking for constructive criticism as well as feedback from the community!
So let's hear it!

I know that there are a lot of people here that are in desperate need for a WWII tanksim.
Welcome aboard, btw, rrhode. Keep us informed. You have any ties to the developer? i ask because "the devs told me".
Oouch, and any word on wether it comes with or without Starforce? |

Thanks for the welcome
Yes - I am in contact with the devs and the producer. So I will try to keep you posted.
Starforce? Don't really know, as the Sim is only in pre-alpha currently.... |

Just asked the producer of the Sim about Starforce, and he said that this will solely and only depend on the publisher, not the devs nor the producer...
So let's hope that a publisher that doesn't use Starforce will pick up the game once it is ready for shipping.... |

That isn't looking so bad
The both t34 might need to a short spare track up the front and some dig en rope gear at the sides. (i guess it will come in a later stage)
Actually i'm more curious for in game footage video's
Keep it up! |

I am sure that some extra detailing will be added to the models in due time...
About the in-game footage: None available as of yet, sorry. |

Question for rrohde, will there be other units in the game, in particular infantry, bunkers, artillery, mgs, and "shudder" aircraft and antitank guns? Don't forget most tanks in WWII actually were used against infantry and mgs and were often countered or slowed down by anti-tank guns. |

I forgot to mention that I am under a NDA, so my answers will be brief - hope you understand!
- Infantery will be modelled; to what extend, I don't know yet.
- MG nests I *assume* will be part of the infantery. Not sure
- Planes? I think so. That's all I can say.
- AT Guns? Prolly the same as with the MG nests.
I will keep you posted as more information becomes available to me. |
