I want to play MP with you! LWAMI mod preferably! Thumbs Up

PM me or find me in HL. Rock Argh

PS We can play with v2.0 or with the latest changes I have! You're choice, I can email you the latest DB.

Also, if anyone wants to be an online testing partner for the mod, I think we can find some room for a credit in the readme. Thumbs Up

Molon, care to play today or tomorrow? Wink

All you need to do is download hyperlobby (the public test version NOT the standard version available now) and make sure that both it and DW can communicate with the internet. If you are making outbound connection (meaning that you aren't the one hosting) then you should be able to pass through your own hardware firewall (router) without having to change the port forwarding, since the connections along necessary ports are coming from your machine.

And Kap, have you read the readme.txt section concerning multiplayer?

ho man ....
GMT +2 here ...
that's why french play against french LOL
well, not really ... the second main reason is I'm one of the few speaking more than 100 words of english.
say 120 Laughing

we have a TS dedicated and meet on it each day
=> 193.23.227.8:8757
I will send you the pass by MP

people start to come at ~ 7:00pm GMT+2, until 01:00 or 02:00
very nice people, enthousiast and generous.
We play MP missions, with sometimes multistation, sometimes not, everyone choose ...
no disconnecters, whinners or problem
Sometimes it takes some time to start a game because I speak too much Laughing but we play beetween 2 and 5 games per session (certainly less now, because your MOD improve the mission duration)
our best day is friday, when you have beetween 7 and 12 guys, playing MPMS.

We play on the most realistic setting DW can offer :

for AC=>
- radar and ESM for sub
- ESM, CM and radar for aircrafts
- ESM and CM for OHP

all other AC (including TMA) are switched off
this way, you can manage a plateform alone as well as a MS plateform, but you must work on your targets with TMA.

Why we use these settings : on radar and ESM, you always have an operator, on the real thing, able to tell you about every new contact, when you are supposed to be sticked at this screen on DW to do the same simple job (just to clic on a contact, not really a smart and interesting job).
anyway you will need to ID the plateform yourself on ESM, and you will do better job to find new radar contact yourself than the AC.
CM also are on to initiate the first decoy launch.
Datalink and 3D are user free, and allow engage with menu is locked disable.

TMA is never on, because subs (and OHP on TA) needs to work on their solutions to make their situational awarness.
And they have to be punished or rewarded for error of estimation.
This is probably the most interesting part of DW, and we don't want to miss it.
Anyway the AC TMA is just too much efficient (say cheating), for subs as for all plateforms.

All MS players use always these settings, and we had nice games with DW 1.01
but US side, especially the aircrafts, enjoyed many advantage over the subs.
To much efficiency on buoys and MAD/SAD, "easy" torps always acquiring, especially.

With your MOD, DW is much more balanced to our eyes, so we all installed it, and each games will be played with your latest version (2.01 today)

As they don't speak english so much, we could play together on some missions.
You will certainly like this big MP match, so if you are free this friday, beetween 19:00 GMT+2 and 02:00 GMT+2 the next day (last week we stopped at 4h56 am !) just join us !
we could take a sub together if you never tried it, I'm sure you will love this !
Anyway we will probably have some shared plateform and not shared plateform on friday.

If you want a long and intense session, you will find it there.

Once I figured out that ICQ and TS are two different things (they both use numbers instead of words... Confused Embarassed Joking ) I'm now able to connect to the MS server. Thank you very much!

I will definately dive with you gentlemen very soon! Rock Rock Rock

I've a simple question.... What connection speed is needed? In the manual I found a generic internet or LAN, with no speed requisite.
I use my mobile phone for connections, it goes as a 56K or small less (depending on signal). Is it enough?

On what I saw, only the Host bandwith is important, not the client.
One friend in our community just have a 56K, and he could play on every game without noticeable problem due to his internet line (and we use Teamspeak also ...).

But the host bandwith is really crutial :
For example, my upload is 128K (download 1Mb), and it's just enought for "loaded" missions with 4 or 5 people.
And on missile launch, there is sometimes some lag in the game ...
As this game is not quake, we don't really matter with the lag, and this doesn't really affect the game, but when you are close to the Host bandwith limit, launching some missiles could froze people screens for some seconds, even for a minute ... or two.

But from some few weeks now, upload was unlocked on the best ISP offers, in France (like ADSL MAX : 8mbps/1mbps -and no more 256k like before-)
I played with one friends having this, and WOW ... no lag at all, fantastic bandwith quality.
We played on a mission, where one of us launched 10 ASM missiles in a row, from an Akula => no lag at all.
Total smooth during games now, whatever happen.
So .. guess what ... I will change my ISP contract for the new one (€29,90 for 8mbps/1mbps instead of mine : €25 for 1mbps/128k ...)

But with a 56k, you can join games without problem, as client.
