By looking at the range scales on the radar screen I've sort of concluded that the radar is set to long range when the switch is on the right, and short range when on the left, but I'm not sure. Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah, I'd like to know this myself. It defaulted on my system to the left setting, and I changed it once, couldn't tell what that did so put it back. |

Yes, it does. The position of the switch corresponds to which range indicator you are using on the screen. |
