Thanks for sharing these things.
And also, excerpt from your site :
"Contact automatic report : Im not 100% sure about this but i think its the percentage chance that the ship will report seeing an enemy, and call for help. Though i could be wrong, just dont mess with this setting "
And i believe that it relates with the fact that the ship or the group will give its coordinates by radio and it will place a mapnote of him on you map.
I thinks it's this cause it happened, and perhaps you can set the lap of time the ship let between two radio transmition of his location.
I'm not sure about this as well ....
Bye. JF. |

"Is saveable : Again dont know what this is really but just leave it ticked."
In fact i believe if unticked, the unit in question will not be saved in the mis file once you File->Save.
Only "savable" units will be saved in the mission file.
This probably have to deal with the mergine that allows you to import inside you file the content of other mission files. |

I follow Red Devil's "Mission Basics" tutorial and get to the point where I drag and drop a British passenger liner in mid-Atlantic. The editor snaps it to northern Canada around the Arctic circle.
How come?
How can I move it now to where I want to?
And I thought this would be a cinch. :nope: |

Make sure that "Pan view" (Spacebar) and "Radius Ruler" (r) are deactivated, then click and drag the unit. |

No go!
All tools unselected and I can't click and drag the unit anywhere. It won't budge! :dead: |

Doesn´t it just work with this particular unit or can´t you move any units at all? |

None. I tried dropping a passenger line, a destroyer and a frigate into the mid Atlantic. They're all placed by the editor in northern Canada and cannot be dragged.
Time out. I've got an idea. I wonder if the Resolution Display Mods DLL file is interfering with the editor. BRB......................... |

Yes, that´s the problem. I start the ME via a batch file, it renames the dll file first, then starts the ME. |

Bingo! Anyone who has the Display Resolution DLL Mod installed to maximize SH3's display resolution to their monitor's will probably encounter this problem.
To resolve the problem, you must temporarily rename file d3d9.dll in your SH3 install directory to d3d9.dll.tmp or similar. Then run the mission editor and all works just fine.
Remember to rename the DLL file back to its original name after finishing your mission editing.
Thanks for your help! |

Can you paste your batch file here, please, for reference? Thanks. |

me.bat, place it into the main sh3 dir. This can then be right-dragged (right-click, then drag) to the desktop to create a shortcut.
---------------------------------------------
ren d3d9.dll d3d9.tmp
sh3missioneditor
ren d3d9.tmp d3d9.dll |

Thanks. Next question:
I've placed waypoints for my group. I click on the time tool. Where am I supposed to see the time it will take for the group to reach each or the last waypoint? |

Select the time tool ("11:11"), then the ship/group and zoom in a bit, then you see the ETA for each waypoint. |
