Hello,
sorry, i did not have the time i wanted last night - but this was really hard. I immediately thought of a "monitor", until i realized there were two smokestacks side by side. So i looked in my books to find it, but nothing. Then i thought of the "U.S.S. Chocktaw", a rebuilt strange looking Mississippi "war" steamer with a flat hull and two smokestacks i once built as a model, but the one on the photo had no paddle wheels :hmm:
Then i looked at the Navy websites, but not one of those monitors and ironclads resembled the picture ... finally i thought if not us the germans had built such a strange thing (secret weapons of the kindergarten or so), and thinking of this Typhoon class it must have been the russians. And i have to admit i was only able to find this with the internet ...
Greetings,
Catfish
