SHIII is far and away my favorite black-hole-of-time right now, so naturally a dozen or so visit a day to subsim.com are in order. I also started playing Sid Meier's Pirates! lately while in port in SHIII, and I was happy to see a forum for this great game here on subsim.com.
Although, 4 or 5 posts a month does not a forum make. I don't really expect the kind of traffic we see in the SHIII forum here, but I would like to see more. Addictedtopirates.com is only slightly busier, and I poked around a few other supposed Pirates! forums and I'm really having difficulty finding an active one. Any suggestions? |

Ya know I just noticed this fourm for the first time last night.
I also recently picked up a copy of Sid's pirates to took a break from SHIII now and then by playing something "lighter" Like Sid's Pirates. If you browsed the SHIII forums you might recogignize me
It (pirates) is a pretty simplistic game but fun as all get out. Im still kind of learning the ropes and my cappy hasent even started to age yet.
We sank Blackheart last night after he got upset with us for stealing his buried treasure
Oh and I still havent sucessfully bagged a governors dauther yet either LOL. |

I played Sid's original version many years ago. The new one is the same but with some additions plus graphics upgrades, so it's much better than the original.
I've only played it for a few hours on a friend's machine, but it is addictive. |

I got the PC version mostly cause the X box version was not on the shelves.
It really is more suited to a "console" game.
But it is addictive espicially when you start getting pieces of treasure maps. You just "have" to find the next piece
But the repetativeness will probably wear thin. I wish that once you have heard a story from the guy in the bar he wouldent tell you the same story over and over and...... |
