Folks,

I've just created a wiki to be used for creating a community developed user manual for the game. Right now, there is not much information out there, but that's where you come in!

In case you're not familiar with the concept, a wiki is a means for collaboratively developing a website. Anyone (yes, anyone) can create new pages or edit existing pages directly from their web browser. It is as simple as visiting the site, and clicking the "edit" button at the top of the page you want to edit.

I encourage everyone to visit the site and begin updating and adding pages. Any small amount of information you can add would be great! I would especially appeal to those who have already created tutorials on various subjects to add at least a link to their content.

The site is: http://www.communitymanuals.com/shiii

Have fun and please post here or PM me with any questions, concerns or problems.

-Ed

edit: updated site address

Awesome idea. I don't really know much, so I can't really add anything myself, but I hope this could become a good resource if the right people add info.

A few weeks ago when the manual TDC techniques threads were getting a lot of attention, I copy-and-pasted as much of the good info as I could into a text file and ended up with 22 pages of it. Getting some of that material into the Wiki would be a great starting point to begin to populate it. The FAQ stickied to the top of this forum has links to most of those valuable threads.

Whatever thread held that whole list of the subs and their differences wouldn't be a bad addition either...

Great ideas, guys. I will try to get some of that info into the wiki as soon as I get a chance (unless someone beats me to it...)

If you do put something up, please credit your source.

Geez I must be an idiot.

I'd seen Wiki pages before and thought they were all made by the same person called WIKI..

This is a perfect use for a Wiki. I'll try to add a little content tonight. If everybody adds a bit then we soon have a great resource.

FYI - In the manual targeting section, it is listed that Range does NOT effect gyro angle.

In fact, range does have an effect on gyro angle.

You can observe this in the manual TDC screen by manually moving the range dial and watching th gyro angle change.

Great idea BTW.... Rock

You don't have to report errors in the wiki here. The whole point of a wiki is that you fix them yourself when you see them :)

Just hit Edit at the top of the relevant page.
