Hi Guys,
I am a U-boat enthusiast and modeler. If you, or anyone you know, is interested in commissioning a custom display U-boat model, please visit my Home Page for photos and more info. I work exclusively with Revell's 1:72 (36in), however I can build Revell's 1:125 (18in).
Website coming soon!
Thank You.

nice work you've done out there! but i suggest you to try other firms as revell usually is not into deep details, wish italeri or hasegawa had one model soon |

Granted its significantly more than I would spend on a model, but I bet that comes out as a rather low price/hour spent crafting it....
Great work on the subs! |

If I was to make a CGI model that detailed it would take me about 100 hours, so I'd be looking for about the same money as he is. The only reason that CGI models are bought more cheaply is because I can sell the one model many times, whereas he must labour long and hard each time. That's skill and time you're buying, not so much a bit of plastic.
I have to agree though, if Hasegawa did a U-Boat model I'd buy it and build it myself, then use it as the basis of a CGI model. Having said that, has anyone got access to any detailed drawings or plans of a Type VII, I fancy making one some time. I made a basic Typhoon class while bored at work the other day, and trying to find a decent drawing was almost impossible.
check http://www.axeman3d.com/models4.htm for a pic of the Typhoon model. |

Actually the Revell 1:72 (36in long) is pretty detailed. And with the amount of AM kits out there you can really detail it. There's even an upper pressure hull kit to install below the deck. I open all the free flooding holes and use a brass deck with open slots so you can see it. You can also modify the deck to open hatches and really see the pressure hull.
The possiblities are almost endless with this kit.
I have 5 different AM kits that I'm using on my own model. Those with some scratch building can give you a very detailed kit.
As far as plans go. I have a book to pick up at the Post Office that has lots of plans of the Type VIIC. I don't have a scanner, but I may be able to take Hi-Rez photos if you like. |

Iīve also just finished the Revell VIIc. Thereīs also a smaller scaled XXI which is open on one side so you can see the highly detailed interior. Itīs another great Revell kit!
