I have my ports set to the recomended settings and actually played a bunch of games with Hitch Monday. We tried to hook up again next day and neither of us could see the ping on either ones server. How could it work one day and not the next?
Yet we could each join another players game at the same time.

I believe that it goes beyond the firewall issue and that there is a bug in the online play.

Anyone else figure this out?

If you are behind a NAT firewall you need to forwrd ports 17999,18000,18001 or the players will not see a ping and wont be able to join.

I would add that you need to make sure you have the ports on the router not only enabled but ensure that they're enabled during the time you're gaming. Some routers have options to only port forward on given days and specific times too

Thumbs Up

Port forwrding siimply forwards the set ports to your ip adddress. My modem has a set ip different to my pc, so i tell it to forward the port range 17999 - 180001 to my ip address. you can apperently tell it to forward those ports to an ip range as well if the machines are all behind the same NAT firewall.
