Hi,
I've been working to get a trigger to fire with respect to creating a airgroup in a particular scenario I'm creating. I'm having a bit of trouble and cant' seem to figure it out. Hope anyone can help with a suggestion.
What I'm trying to do is set up a trigger where when the "controllable" sub arrives at a certain destination, an "airgroup" is then created in the mission and begins flying along their waypoints. I don't want the airgroup to appear in the mission until the trigger is fired. What is happening is that the "airgroup" always starts at the beginning of the mission. I'm reading and re-reading the mission editor manual but am obviously missing something.
Can anyone point me in the right direction on this thing? Perhaps create an example mission? Thanks. |

Did you try creating an arrival goal for your destination, turning doctrine language ON for that goal, setting the doctrine to "run script," and creating a script that creates the group?
I haven't done it, but that's my best guess. =) |

This is a common mistake. Set the group's Probability = 0. I'll bet you left it at 100%, which guarantees it is created as soon as the scenario begins. At 0%, it will never be created unless the trigger is fired. |

Well, looks like you were right on this one Bill. Or at least half right. After sleeping on it and trying it again today, I found this is what I had done.
I created the three aircraft which made up the group. Created the "group" and added the three aircraft in that designation. Now, in the group icon, I set probability of inclusion to 0%, each individual aircraft was set at 100%. So that is why they were always showing up in the mission right at the beginning.
The fix was to be sure all individual objects (aircraft in this case) were set to 0% probability and also set the "group designation" to 0% probability. Then when I set the trigger to create the group, it does. Works excellent now.
Molon Labe, that is another good suggestion and work around. That is not how I created the group but it can be done. I've tested your suggestion as well. You really have got to give Sonalysts credit for this amazingly versitile mission creator.
Thanks for the help guys. Now back to mission making. |
