John suggested this as a sticky topic that would have posts linking to other topics that fixed problems with people getting the game to run, graphics issues, rebooting issues, etc.
So, if you read this, and you have another post in this forum that could help other players, please make a post in this thread with a link to that other post. We want to continue discussion of the issues in the other posts and use this thread as a quick index of topics and links.
John sees this as an Unofficial Tech Support & Troubleshooting Index to all the other posts in this forum. Below, I will make a few links to other posts as an example.

| Neal can you tell me what the fix is for re-booting the computer because I already had the latest sound card drives and double checked again. I still had re-boots tho. |

Fix for CTD at Main Loading Screen.
The game ran flawlessly for about 60hrsover 5 days before I encountered this bug. I had 6 Careers.
The Game Loaded, Ubi Logo Screen appeared, Intro Video played, and game CTD halfway through Main Loading Screen.
Workaround:
Cut and Paste all your carreers from Careers folder to Desktop. Cut and Paste all your careers from your desktop back to Careers folder.
Game now loads normally. |

Is ther a fix for:- Can Not Initialise 3D Engine.
This error message appears after Key code is Checked ,then nothing,cann't get into game

Ive had this too using a beta version NVIDIA driver, I fixed it by going back to NVIDIA's official drivers. |

| I'm using an ATI 9600XT card.I switched from Omega drivers to the ATI catalyst (latest) drivers.Still get this error message.It's been 4 days now and still can't play this game. |

One of my buddy just got the game today and he has a ATI 9600XT aswell and he crashes to desktop midway trough the first red loading bar after the 2 little movies. He has latest directX and I just made him switch to latest catalyst 5.3 but that didnt help either. Only he doesnt get any error messages, just CTD. Its not the saved mission thingy mentionned before on this forum as he cant get in the game in the first place.

CAUSE:- REFRESH FORCE Enabled........Return to defaults everything ok

Also a DVD-Rom is required unless you download from the web. Direct2Drive is a site you can get it at if you don't have a DVD-ROM drive. However I hear people are still waiting for D2D to release the download.

| I'd reclassify the weather one as a workarounm, as in many cases a reinstall doesnt work. The workaround is still just to save and reload. |

| I downloaded my D2D version, but on retrospect, I wish I hadn't gotten it that way. The prospect of zero expansion packs, one install, and very little support didn't occur to me until after the 40 bucks was gone. :doh: |
