CAOD +xp?????

All this talk oh sh3 made me try CAOD again on my xp. Here is the problem, no mem? It's been a log time since I had to play around with boot disks lol, this game was designed to run under windows?. The game runs no problem every *.exe file is set to win95 format. when trying to go out to sea it crashes saying no mem. Help plz

ps. Dosbox dose not solve the problem, shoot in the dark lol.
