Hello everyone, some of you might know me from Ubi`s SH lll forum for the rest I am just what I am here...a bilge rat Smile

Every now and than I shall post a link to a page where you can download some music from that era.
It has been deliberately chosen to be of lesser quality and thus to resemble the "WW ll gramophone" sound.

Here:
http://rapidshare.de/files/788866/Messervy_s_gramophone_pack1.rar.html

http://rapidshare.de/files/788928/Messervy_s_gramophone_pack2.rar.html

http://rapidshare.de/files/789025/Messervy_s_gramophone_pack3.rar.html

http://rapidshare.de/files/789107/Messervy_s_gramophone_pack4.rar.html

http://rapidshare.de/files/789289/Messervy_s_gramophone_pack5.rar.html

Note:
Scroll down and click on "Free button"
Scroll down again and you will see a second countdown timer.
Wait for a minute or so and you will see a link in large fonts, then you can download it.
Mind that you can download only 30 MB at the time, then you have to wait for an hour or so. This is a reason why I broke it into smaller chunks.
I hope you`ll enjoy it during your long patrols.

I found a website that has every german W.W.II song ever made. Here's the link; http://ingeb.org/WWIIi.html.
I have one question though. Did the U-Boat guys ever hear the American Big Bands on the radio or the gramophone while at sea. I assume so but I want to know what you think.

U-boat 123 Crew listened to the big bands and loved it, while patroling off the East Coast during Operation Drumbeat. -Nightowl

Downloading again JayW.!
I'm just wondering whether playing Nazi songs like the Horst Wessel Lied would be good or bad for the morale of the crew...

Wow, this is enough music to last for those very long months at sea, and the very long hours many of us will spend in real time playing out these months Yep

Thanks Messervy. I have probably got enough period music to last several hundred patrols but more is always welcome!
