So I was thinking for MP, if someone who is good at MP mission building if they'd like to have a crack at this one.
It could start with Boston Providence and Chicago launching the TLAMs and then having to race back to an exit point...
They'd be hunted by Kilos Akulas and P3s and OHPs maquerading as Soviet ships.
Also some AI Russian units for good measure....
It would be great fun and exciting.. |

Funny you should mention, I was working on that very scenario last night! But, I was thinking more along the line of a RSR campaign, not multiplayer :hmm: |

I tried doing it in SC but it was very difficult to not have the other 688s attack the Grisha before launching TLAMs and also 688s not launching TLAMs
So I gave up. |

Surely you could use scripting to change the alliance once TLAMs have been launched....
So at start of mission it is a neutral and then when TLAMs are fired it switches to hostile... |

Yes, that's easy to do in DW. The harder part is making the AI subs fire their TLAMs. Gonna have to play around with that and see how it works. |

If you need help, Bill, just let me know.
Technically you can "daisy chain" as many script actions for the AI 688's as you'd like and then also kick off other scripts (for the 688's or Grisha's, etc) when your previous script has completed (there is an "If EndScript ____" modifier I believe). So you should be able to get the sequence of events you're looking for with some tweaking, I think.
Sounds fun! |

Since the Grisha was just sitting with it's engines off - couldn't you just put it in a group and creat it after you've fired off your TLAMs? Or something close to that. I mean, if you want it to be close yet undetected wouldn't you almost have to do it that way? |

I was toying with this scenario myself. Any way to make a louder than normal 688 to simulate damage and limit top speed?
I loved RSR and am working on a NACV scenario right now actually.
Near the east coast with a Victor III and maybe a Oscar. I have to figure out how to get the Oscar radar picture to shoot from, if that even works.
