HOI-2

I just got Hearts of Iron 2 and have been playing it alot during the past
week. Lots of improvements over the original Hearts of Iron.
I started as the USA back in 1936 and have been playing hour by hour.
Its mid 1943 now and still no war for the USA yet. Japan has still not
declared war on anybody yet either. I only have till Dec. 30, 1947 to
get something done. I guess I will have to declare war on Germany
in order to get into WW2 or the Axis will surely win !!!

i have the platinum edition. is deuce really all that much better?

I think so. I played HOI-1 for quite awhile way back when. I seem to
remember wanting to do many things that were just not possible.
HOI-2 is much more expanded. Not only do I have many more options
(the part I like best in a BIG strategic game), the battles seem to be
much more accurate. You can now add 1 Brigade to each Division to
make it stronger. There is a much better breakdown of research possibilities like more ships, planes, troops,brigades,doctrines and such.
The Diplomacy is so much more expanded also. I can do many more
things with other nations and I can play them all (one at a time) if I
want too.

Check the CORE-MOD for HOI-1. For those who do´nt have HOI-2 it brings a lot of fun (and especially events en masse) to the first HOI.
Can´t wait for CORE for HOI-2 to appear!

It's June 1944 and I am finally into the battle for France. I have landed
3 divisions in France but on the western side just northeast of Spain.
I can support them with a Battleship Fleet, Carrier Fleet and a ASW Fleet.
I don't ever remember being able to do that with HOI-1. I am bringing
in Aircraft Squadrons with lots more Army Corps (3 Divisions each). My
opposition is most single division Italian troops. I am almost to Paris and
so far resistant is very light. If I can take Paris, its gonna make the Axis
very mad (as far as an AI can get mad) I have much more control with
HOI-2 than I did with HOI-1....
