Snake's (no longer short) patch list:
1. Make the 65-76 a wakehomer and take away its wire guidance.
2. Decide if the 53 cm torpedoes are UGSTs or not.
3. Make the countermeasures realistic and not something out of the Bible - "And the Lord said "Make thy torpedoes useless and explode harmlessly" and it was done."
4. Check over ALL weapon systems to verify that they are presented as accurately as possible. (All I want is realism).
5. How about a way to remove the play music and have it like in Sub Command. Maybe a series of folders where we would put our own background effects using the music option. I REALLY miss this from Sub Command. I've got the blue-lit keyboard, the stereo surround sound, dim lights... the background noise that others modded in SC was great! Can we get the ability to put it back in?
6. Sonar Trackers that keep tracking. Could we have a setup that allows us to adjust how long we want to continuously track a single target. I was surprised to be tracking an Oscar class for a while. Go to the head... come back... the sonar is still picking her up nice and clear but the tracker is gone. Who knows... probably I screwed up... but did I?
7. Make the ASROC missiles simpler to use by using a simple waypoint setting as to where the torpedo will drop into the water and not where it will release from the carrier missile.
8. A diving Klaxon and an option to sound general quarters.
9. How about lining up the narrow band frequency ID field with the actual sonar data? In SC they would line up perfectly... here... well... pain in the arse trying to confirm a contact's class.
10. Torps should slam wrecks.
11. Speed - noise relationship tweaked in order to have the noise dependant even from speed , above all for Diesels running on batteries

Probably because you unloaded/jettisoned and then left the screen to do something else before it was done. |
Is that what causes it? |
Maybe. At the time I was in a total panic with wave after wave of Vampires coming at me and I needed to clear the OAB. For some reason I think a Harpoon wouldn't fire and I Jettisoned it while I was frantically jumping to every station trying to save my ship. |
There you have it. Happened several times to me, until I nearly accidentally figured it out, after which I could reproduce it. There's another, when firing a SM-2 the only way I can reliably have the STIR go CWI is to move the mouse pointer onto the circular display before 'liftoff'...
That station undoubtedly has some of the most deadly bugs around... |

In my case, I was still able to load SM-2s but there was no possibility of loading any of my other 3 Harpoons. And, yes, I made plans for them. |

Well, appearantly no real show stoppers, no ctd issues or something of that callibre. But some minor annoying things. :shifty: Think I will wait a couple of weeks until these things got sorted out and then place my order. |

I will do exactly the same
It could be a good idea to make a short list with problems then check it with Thom and others and then post the thread on a sticky.
After let's say a month or so this can be processed from Sonalists in order to fix the fixable.

No-no-no, no list-thing this time, Boomer! If things need a long list again to be described, I will stay away from the game instead this time!
But so far it seems only SB Pro could delay me from getting DW sooner or later. |

If you can recreate this, I would be very interested in the sequence. Changing screens, although a possible work-around , should have nothing to do with loading that launcher and it definitely needs to be addressed. :hulk: |

I would like to see the patch incorporate a fix to where I can toggle between TRUE and RELATIVE bearings on the lookout stations. |

I hope it won't be necessary but in the case we have to be ready

And first of fall I want to congratulate Sonalyst for their DW sim, it's excelent, thanks.
But what I would like to see fixed in the first patch is the Roll rates of the P-3C and MH-60 (the aircraft)! They're just to low, turning (rolling) both aircraft looks like "turning a Super Tanker". The Pitch and Rudder rates by the other hand looks quite good.
In my oppinion the only thing needed here if to incress the Roll rate for both aircraft.
For me, this is the only issue that needs to be corrected so far. The rest of DW looks excelent, in my oppinion that is... |
Does anyone noticed this or agree? |

Not sure about the P3, but I've flown the Helo manually and I definately think the roll rates are too slow. |

A time bearing plot for sub tma .... so I can do eklund ranges, the bearing rate on DDI isn't too good for the need. |

Don't you guys mean "turn rates" instead of roll rates? :hmm: |

Fellas:
I really, really need a recipe for your SM-2/Harpoon issues. If I could create them easily, they would not be in the game, so I need help from you in order to fix them. Whatever you can do to recreate the bugs is a huge help to me. For example:
(If you aren't using a canned mission, I also need your mission)
1) I went to the Weapons Control screen and loaded an SM2
2) Went to the CIWS screen and put it on auto
3) Went to the NAV screen and changed the classification of a helo to a tanker
4) returned to weapons control and went back to the SM2 launch panel.
5) assigned new classified tanker as target and began launch of sm2
.....
I know this can be time consuming , but it helps me greatly...
Thanks!!!!!! |
