|

I just built new computer and loaded SC to get ready for DW. Performance on my BFG 6800 Ultra OC (256 MB Ram) is terrible in SC. The screen flickers on and off, my cursor is so sloppy I can't even assign targets. I have AA and ASFF turned off. All other games run awesome on this card. Any ideas? I hope DW will work!! Drivers are 71.25. Thanks |

Hi Stretch
I run SC at 1600x1200 ... with 2xQ AA and 4x AF, .... as smooth as silk on my Gainward 6800 Ultra ... also using the 71.25 drivers.
... no flickering either.
... mouse control is very smooth and precise .. i.e. no slop
Absolutely no problems whatsoever ....
System is a P4-3.4E /w 2 Gb RAM.
Cheers

Perhaps it's a power supply issue??? The chip might not be getting enough power.
P.S. Tom, you're making me feel poor, stuck with my trusty 9700Pro and 1280x1024. |

Well this is very frustrating. All other games and applications are fast my Mad Onion Bench was 20480. Here are the other system specs
Asus A8V Deluxe
Athlon FX 53
1 Gig Corsair Pro Mem
SB Audigy2
I tried unistalling new drivers, I even reinstalled Microsoft Speech because this is the only app using, but no go. |

By the way, my picture looks like I just bit a lemon.
On the 3D view, the screw will spin for a second, lag for a 1/4 second, spin for a second . . . etc.
For some reason I remember this problem on the Radeon 9700's when they came out. Wasn't there a notl switch to put on the target? |

Servus Stretch,
I think you mean "-atifixed", you have to apply at the command line
on your desktop icon.
It is also mentioned in the readme of Patch 1.08.
Hope this helps |

Yeah I guess that was it. But that won't work for this Nvidia card! Thanks for the reply Lucky Starr! |
