returing to this topic..
I'm planning to build some day a rc model of a sub.
I want to create it all from scrach.
Yes this is way more fun and challenge.
I've build models in the past and i'm building for 4 years a small fiching ship.
it looks like crap, but who cares, at least i've learned a lot from it.
after i'll finish that rc fishy boat i wanne do some serious scale modeling.
Has anyone some good tips, on building rc subs who can dive.
I've founds some nice sites on the net, especially that u-25 model site is very good. but there is more to learn.
Maybe some of you could provide me some helpfull info.
My knowledge isn't big when it comes to rc sub models.
ps, sorry for jacking your thread.
Thanks. |

model submarines
i have a model submarine it is of a conventional 688 los angeles class fast attack boat i bought it on ebay and its semi compleate and will be compleated when i get around to it (ie probly with in the next 10yrs)
the sub it self is 7feet long 1 foot wide and wieghts in the region of 40 to 45 kilos when not submerged (submerged wieght increases to around 60 -65 kilos) the proppeller is the size of my hand
there is one snag i need 6 x 600 watt motors with gear boxes to power it (and thats just to make it go) i need other motor to control the control surfaces about another 4 i rekon so all in all its a lot of money |
