|
|
VERY IMPORTANT
BEFORE INSTALLING PA LITE YOU MUST ADD THE UNIT AND MODEL FILES FROM DESTROYER COMMAND TO YOUR SHII INSTALLATION
PA LITE WILL NOT WORK WITHOUT THESE FILES.
From horsas thread:
Quote: | In the next few days it will be possible to download a totally free LITE version of Pacific Aces. ( BTW not from the site on my sig )
Watch this thread for links.
The original full version of Pacific Aces is available from Subsim Review either by download or in the super CD. Both the download ($5) and super CD ($20) require donations to cover the site and administaration costs.
Pacific Aces is a project put together by a group of enthusiasts of submarine and naval warfare simulators, as an unofficial add-on to Ultimation´s Silent Hunter 2® , and has been produced and supported by Subsim Review.
It is a full conversion of SHII to the Pacific Theatre of operations giving you control of US submarines against the Japanese forces.
What the PA LITE download DOESN’T contain is :-
A FULLset of game menu screens . Only a main screen and a one or two screens essential for PA to work properly
Any 1024 resolution screens for the submarine stations.
Any of the japanese units and models necessary for the game to work. You will need a legal copy of Destroyer Command and have to manually copy these across to the relevant directories of your SHII installation
Support for PM
However it DOES contain :-
Reworked 3D models for P,Sargo and T class submarines, much richer in detail and with screws, rudder and animations implemented
Totally new 3D models for Gato and Balao class submarines
A full set of 800 resolution submarine station screens
New single missions
Conversions to some of the game control interfaces.
A random campaign developer which creates careers based on previously player-chosen parameters, allowing the use of different submarines, home bases and patrol zones. And not only that, but in the missions themselves there is also a high randomness factor implemented, achieving a different experience each time they are played.
Additionally you can download a full all new audio set including custom American voices from DJ Funks’s site |

Regarding submarine models. Are these the same models (JRF files) as in full PA distro or you updated (reworked) subs from full PA as well? :hmm: |

Bruno, PA Lite contains the same new and reworked American subs as the full version ( unit and model files) |

Got it.
Thank you, gents.
I have a full PA and was thinking that you might touched up models and fixed some problems like flying guns after save-reload. OK. Those 'after save-reload flyers' are still there. I can definitely live with it.
Great job, gents. Thanks for PA |

I personally think that the pay as you download one is best, it helps the site which is not a bad thing. Loads of bugs but playable. |

It seems you are missing some TGA file. Have you copied all the models and additional TGA files from Destroyer Command/Sim/Models folder? |

Likely, you are lacking proper models/units. See my post above about copying from Destroyer Command. |
