I made the mistake of buying this movie yesterday. It makes U 571 look like an Oscar winner. Has anyone else sat through this garbage? Please , there must be someone else out there who can share my pain! Damn

Checked it out from Blockbuster. Garbage, garbage, indeed. It's unbelievable how they could make such a flick after Das Boot. Really, U571 looks like an Oscar winner.

Has anyone heard anything about the PQ17 movie? I remember seeing a preview for it over a year ago.

No, I've not heard another word on PQ-17. Too bad-that trailer was awesome.

I'm moving this topic to the films & books forum, as it fits better there.

RE Enemy hands, not yet seen it...but will not try after what I have heard.

RE PQ 17, I *think* the movie was already out in Russia some time ago. I remember someone in a spanish forum saying he saw it there on a trip some months ago, but it was only in Russian :hmm:

There was a link to a trailer some time ago, with great CGI of Ju-88s attacking the convoy. I don't have the link anymore, and I can't find it anywhere on the web.

Hopefully someone smarter than I am can correct this.

Smart? Me? Nahhh - but I've found it.

http://www.newsru.com/cinema/12feb2004/pq17.html

It's in Russian, but scroll down to the links in the main text area - there are two:

- 1 фрагмент фильма
- 2 фрагмент фильма

How bout Full Fathom Five    It came out in 1990 but they used footage from an old WW2 movie so you can see the srings pulling the torpedos through the water. :shifty: Stare All was not lost though...half way through the movie I left and went to see Men at Work so I actually got my $4 worth (wouldn't it be great if movies were that cheep again Very Happy ).
