i want to order DW for christmas . what are the chances of it being released then?

Based on previous indications I'd say chances are good it will be out by then. But should any showstopper bugs show up, it might take longer. Not much chance of that, I believe. If so it should at least have been found by now.

There's (nearly) a whole month left 'till santa achieves takeoff. Keep the faith, yet, he might bring along the sonobuoys and torpedoes for you Laughing

I'd like to amend that a bit. It says that it will go gold (and open for preorders) about two weeks before release. That means there are ~two weeks left.

I posted about a Christmas release and was told by MSgalileo that The gold annoucement is not for this week or the other, the second beta round is confirmed by his intel source
not for Christmas
So it seems it will probability not be under any trees this year.

Again, I commend SCS on the move to their current publisher. With a huge corp publisher, they would be under heavy pressure to release on a certain date, whether or not the game was "bug-free" or not. I'm sure there will be some minor issues, but at least it wont be a disaster. I think they'll get everything worked out, tested, re-tested, before release. I think it's worth the wait.

Now I could live with the PDF version of the manual be released for download, that would be a nice stocking stuffer.....
