|

Well , after some email exchange with Martin (from Battlefront) it appear that a french version (documentation,in game text and even vocie) of DW will be done in french with the help of Mille-sabords community , we are near 10 ready to help BF or to make the translation for free and some of us have yet done translation for other naval sims.
Then I hope other foreign community (German, Spanish, ...) could ask the same if the are motivated and numerous and if it worth to BF in term of sale (yes I think they will not an Inuit version of DW even there is a team ready to translate ). |

Not a Dutch translation I think, to small a market.
But then, I prefer a english manual because all multiplayers speak (write) english.
When I start playing 688 in 1998 I could only say yes and no. :shifty: |

On may 31, 2004 I wrote a post asking: “In what languages will Dangerous Waters be available?”

There are a very illustrative image about what could happen if they do not translate the game in Spanish:
A Sub Command’s translation.

Msgalileo could you explain in detail what are you trying to say in this phrase? (feel free to write in French)
Maybe I could help with the Spanish translation. |

I mailed martin about a dutch translation for the manual. He replied promptly stating that his wife was dutch as well and if he can put it through, there'll be a dutch translation as well.
So Fish, if you're interested, you might as well mail martin about it |

I think you don't have to email to Martin, Fish, You can create your Dutch translation team and when the time come (DW release) send and email to Martin to say : We are ready to help you or do the job. |

And to prepare your team for the translation you can downlaod some NATO STANAG like AAP6 and AAP15 (NATO Glossary) at the NATO STANAG web site http://www.nato.int/docu/standard.htm |
