Not to stir the pot or anything, but has the beta team been chosen yet?

Hey guys... The only reason that I didn't declare the BETA selection process "complete" is that we're considering doing a test process in multiple "tiers" to try to get a fresh set of eyes towards the end of BETA. It may be difficult to organize that many people at once, so we're trying to see how the first tier goes and if we need any additional people towards the end.

Anyway, the first tier of testers has their BETA builds and are putting in the bugs already (unfortunately). We have all the applications still, so if we're recruiting some additional folks, we'll be sure to contact those who are next on the list.

Thanks!
- Jamie

Hi Jamie,

I see the thing from a different point of view, I would have said fortunately because this means betatesters are doing their job properly. :know:

Cheers

That's the good idea, and the way beta tets usually work (or end up) because beta testers drop out all the time, no matter how eager they seemed to be when applying Neutral\

Never mind myself, but I certainly hope Thomasew and jsteed are in? Are you guys? Come on you can brag Cool

Well, Oleg, as you know their non-disclosure agreements prohibit them from commenting on just about everything... But in a way, that certainly answers your question. Smile

Scion you're not supposed to hear anything. But if you pay *close attention* to DW beta board on BF site, you'll notice number of posts there jumped from cca 50 to 335 (at this moment) in like couple of days. No. of posts is visible to everyone, even though the beta board itself is under restricted access.

That should be a telltale sign of the beta tester's first impressions, bug reports, complaints etc. and cca 300 posts by just handful of people is a *lot*.

Jamie, if your NDA forbids beta testers from even saying they are beta testers then it's the most restrictive NDA I ever heard of :8Cool Keep Thom well fed in your Beta Cellar we'll need him for DWX eventually

Would looove to get my hands on the bugtracking system's URI.
I think I read they would use Mantis for this job and not the BF-forums?

Well at Mille-Sabords, somebody have disseapear from your SC rendez-vous, and I know that he is not ill or oversea then I think he is doing Betatest for DW, but he refuse to confirm Laughing (or he is making deception)
I guess there is not only americans or english doing the tests, some German, Spanish, Italian and French who must translate the documention in they own language Razz

I'm sure there are beta testers from many countries on different platforms with many different system configurations.... that's how Sonalysts always produces a quality product....

Oleg,

You may infer whatever you would like from whatever you choose, but I'm pleased with how the BETA test is going and especially how constructive and thorough the testers have been.

If you would like to put a negative spin on that statement as well, you are more than welcome to do so... Confused

I wasn't putting "negative spin" on anything, really.... especially not this time. Neutral\

I merely noted that Scion is wrong: beta testers are not silent, and *if* they would be silent, then *that* would be a bad sign.

I was or am member of some beta teams, and usually the silent beta board is the worst sign. Beta boards with lots of traffic are usually good sign. So, first, Scion was wrong to conclude that silent betas are good sign (they're not), and that DW beta testers are silent (apparently they're not). That's what I tried to say in like less than two paragraphs Cool
