I'd like a 'virtual unit' added, playable, when played it would give you a "fleet command" type interface.

Although it's a bit beyond DW, having a player controled carrier and being able to launch player controled aircraft from it woul be soooo coool.

Well I think I worked out a good list of what should be in any add-on. IF the add-on were to be as big as the game (Two Disks) but minus the Source Code, Sounds and extra Graphics (Basicly just new stations, player craft grapics, and voices) SA might be able to get a away with this:

Blue:
Collins or Type 212* (Or Barbel if we want to go with something from the USA!)
Spruance+
Burke+

MR-2 Nimrod*
Type 42 +
Type 22+
Type 23*
Trafalger*
Lynx*
Oberon or Upholder*

OPFOR:
Bear-F/May*
Helix*
Kirvak*
Udaloy+
Sovermnny +
Oscar+
Zhi-9A Haitun*

* Denotes a counterballance for an existing platform
+ Denotes a counterballance for a new platform

I think this ballances all the sides (With UK added and PLAN ballanced somewhat) and adds some new dynamics.

Don't try to mirror them all!

If you mirror them, it gets too boring, it would be just same what platform you play.

Oh, somebody tried to hack me from Korea JUST now!
Well, he was no match for my firewall! Razz

Back to topic, is Seawolf, 668 and Akula completely balanced and mirrored? NO! Thumbs Up
So don't mirror them, it is more interesting when there is no mirroring and such.

Imagine:

There is a sub sim, with 3 different controllable subs.

Sub 1 characterics:
(diesel) Silent, got 4 tubes and 10 weapon rack, no VLS or missiles
Sub 2:
(nuclear) Got 8 tubes, 14 rack, 8 VLS tubes, looks cool (?), and 6 external CM tubes.
Sub 3:
(diesel) VERY silent, got no VLS, 4 tubes, 6 rack, no towed array and can ground.

OR would this be better:

Sub 1:
(nuclear) Got 8 tubes (4 external), 18 rack, 12 VLS and 8 external CM tubes.
Sub 2:
(nuclear) Got 8 tubes (4 external), 18 rack, 12 VLS and 8 external CM tubes.
Sub 3:
(nuclear) Got 8 tubes (4 external), 18 rack, 12 VLS and 8 external CM tubes.

I hope this makes you guys think something. Ping

They are not Mirrored they are just balancing the forces so each side has atleast one of each type of platform. A flight sim might have a MiG 29 to ballance out a F-15 but they are not the same and play very diffrently.

Look at thease Examples. The Type 22 (Duke Class) which I ment to be a counter of the OHP is armed with 8 Harpoons (Same # as OHP but in its own launcher) 1 VLS system for the Seawolf SAM (NOT what the OHP has) has 8 torpedoes (while the OHP has 6), and has a bigger gun.

The Trafalger has 5 tubes against the LA's 4 No VLS but has 2/3 diffirent torpedoes and diffrent CM launchers.

The weapons and sensors on each platform are quite diffrent, I just want each side to have the same types of ships.
