Just been over on the SH3 site and they have just uploaded a new
Official Trailer. I'm downloading it now so haven't seen it yet, don't
know if it's the same as the one from Gamespot. |

It is. With the only difference that it hasn't GameSpot's logo. |

They should make like a 2 hour .avi movie showing the game in depth, everything from how you start a patrol, go to patrol zone, inside the boat, ect.
Who cares it it is a 300 meg file, I got a 3 meg pipe at home :-)
Course that would take till Feb. to d/l if you are on dial up :-( but then agian that would mean by the time you d/l the thing the game would be out :-) |

I have visually compared them and they seem to be almost identical. But the trailer released by GS was much larger (12MB) and this one is of 5'5MB. :hmm: |

Looks like a higher amount of compression without a loss of image quality. |

Just finished viewing it and it was "short" compared to all the other videos. Even with that I was pleased seeing the DD have sailors actually manning the racks and moving about, lights flashing while being DC'd (no screen shake?), and a few other items. On the negative I still seem to think that the ships will sink just with one torpedo hit. Was that capital ship riding in the water that low or was that torpedo shot the finishing touch on an already damaged ship? If that latter I didn't see any smoke etc... which would signify that it was damaged. |

Again this trailer is very well done.
I like its "drive" and music.
Special FX on and (in) the water seem to be very dynamic - notice the destroyer shot infront of the sub - the impact in the water is rendered in real time? I mean not just a tga or bmp texture ?

The "Shakey Cam" video showed a rather entertaining screen "blur" when DCs were close, so I think we're okay there. |
