Being a modder with an unfamiliar game...

I guess asking Thomasew how to change the P-3 Skin to my old squadron is outta the question Damn

Thanks for the feedback. We will do our best to see that the review exceeds expectations.

Cheers

An excellent reveiw. Although short and sweet I learned a bit about how the platforms (P-3) work.

Some new screenies with a little info as to what we are looking at too. Extra Cool

I envy you guys that have the game on hand... Yep

Still waiting for the OHP screenies on the DW site... :hmm:

Keep up the good work guys. Thumbs Up

I sure hope we don't have flying ships as we did in SC. I thought the new physics engine would take care of that. Beer, how did you get that picture?

cheers, jsteed

It's a 3d-model rendered on a static background image. Seems to be done with 3DSMax.

Correct JJ,

I made the Pegasus in 3dsMax r5 for a Flight Sim. It is a rendering of PHM 1 against a Ocean .bmp.

I am not familiar with how the SCS addons are being implimented (yet), but in addition to playing the game I too am interested in modding and adding platforms, the PHM is an example of one of my ship models.

Cheers

Looks fine Very Happy

To get it into Sub Command, you will need 3D Max ver 3 and the J3D plugin.

The default plugin is restricted in the poly size of the models to 4000. Any more than that and it will crash and not export.

If its larger than 4000 polys and you want it converted, just mail me the files and i'll see what i can do Wink

Also any map files need to be in BMP format.

Regarding changing the P3 skin... as long as the file structure is the same as Sub Command then it will be easy enough to change the logo etc.

Fantastic! DW sure is lookin' like a Beautiful thing. Thanks alot, guys. Thumbs Up

I wonder if it will be smooth hooking up multi-player online with dial-up (modem). If not, It looks like I finally have an excuse to get high-speed connection and join the rest of the 21st century.
