It's an british R Class submarine I think. At least I'm certain it is a british submarine.

I think the R class looks very different in many ditails.

BTW: This is a german submarine. You can recognize a german WWI submarine very easily by taking a closer look to the tower.



You see the lower front part of the tower that serves as a wavebreaker, followed by the higher part with the helmstation infront of the periscopes and the aft part, what is the actual bridge that is entrenched and gives the crew cover from the rough seas.

This tower cofiguration is very common for most of the german submarines in WWI. On some u-boats the lower wavebreaker is missing and on the earlier, mostly gazoline, submarines and on some diesels, the tower cofiguration like the one below was very common:



The following tower configuration was used only on the first four submarines:



Some of them were upgraded later since this tower gaved no cover at all.
