In my opinion this rules out units like the Ticonderoga or the Sovremenny ( what a pitty ). |
There's alot more to the Surface Warfare Profession than this.

What about the famous boomers ? I remember there was quite a lot of demand to be able to play Ohio's or Typhoons.
Even if SCU might have filled this need, it still would be nice to have the SSBNs playable in an official product. |

Playable boomers would either need to be unable to fire missiles, or have a seperate station to fire, requiring orders from above. No firing of nukes willy nilly.
I say that the top prioritys should be (In Order)
- Russian ASW Suface Platform
- Russian ASW Air Platform
- Western Diesel (Collins, 212, 206 etc)
- Boomers

I would request not quite a boomer, but how about the new Ohio SSGN conversion and the Russian equivelant? A mission that you have to sneak up to the launch point and then defend yourself against the horde of subs, ships, and planes coming after you... :hmm: |

The Russians in DW should have the bigist ASW skimmer ever built: THE KIROV!!
Come on you know you want those 20 SSMs, 22 SAM launchers, 10 Torp/ASROC tubes and 3 ASW RBU launchers
oh yea and 3 Helos!!!
When ever I see one of those things I half expect to see Darth Vader standing on its bridge with the Imperial March playing in the background. |

I wonder if DW thinks of introducing more NATO ships in an expansion pack or something, i think the netherlands navy is underrated when it comes to proffesionalism and advanced ships and technlogy. Same goes for UK, spanish and German vessels! |

But for online multiplayer wars I would like to have some Chinees and France vessels too. |

I'm pretty sure that if they do add anything, it will serve to balance up the sides. A Russian frigate, likely the Kirvak, it's typically carried helicopter, and a patrol plane such as the IL-38 are certainly within reason for the FIRST expansion pack.
Remember, guys, this game is going to be the core title to what SA plans to be a massive Naval battlespace including all the platforms from submarines, to surface ships, to fighters and hlicopters. I think that, given enough support and popular sales, we could eventually see everything in the reference list ans a usable platform.
I tell you a surface ship I'd like to se, but probably won't for some time: The Qahir-class Corvette. That's just a nice-looking boat. |

Don't try to mirror FFG-7 Perry! It is so boring! Try to have a different ship instead! It makes the game more interesting! So don't do it like Warcraft 2, where almost ALL units were just mirrored, it was boring... And try to have maximum specialtiness on a unit that is added, like FFG-7, it has lots of different strategies, but if we look like, on a foxtrot, what does foxtrot have? It has NO strategies, few stations, and it would be very boring to drive that, unlike Akula, Seawolf, P-3C and so on... |

As someone already mentioned, this issue have already been talked in past and I have great hopes the game is a real success and we get the expansion packs.
As I did on past I would love to see the Neustrasshimy Class (Type 11540)
I think it is the most similar vessel to the FFG-7 on the Russian Navy.
Just my two cents on this. |
