i wasn't able to log onto the site though... it may be down temporarily, for some reason or the other... will try again later...
yup those Whiskeys are definitely in the Cold War version of my planned sim... and they will be player drivable
these are some untextured shots of the Whiskey and Whiskey Twin Cylinder hull forms in the modelling program...
more up to date screenies, of not only my stuff, but a few of the other projects under development will be coming soon...

i tell you something that many do not know about whiskeys
there is a country that still oparates two whiskeys ill give you a hint they hate china! both are in very good nick and both still go to sea but they now retain a much lesser role since thier new hi lung subs came into service |

Really? Are sure your not mistaking them for US built GUPPY class subs?
(Obviously talking about Taiwan here)
EDIT: Taiwan operates two GUPPY II class Submarines Hai Shih ex-USS Cutlass SS-478 and Hai Pao (Hai Bao?) ex-USS Tusk SS-426. Both sold to them in 1973.
The GUPPY and Whiskey both were devloped from the German Type XXI U-Boats taken by US and Russia after WWII. |

nah tiwan oparates the us guppys it also has two dutch built zwarvis (spelling bad) subs two whiskey cl;ass boats and also a nuclear powerd SSBN (but its not an SSBN).
the SSBN is a old yankee class (navaga) which has had its missile secion removed and plugs inserted for oceanographic reaserch the yankee was bought in may 1992 four years after it was decommisioned and will reamain in the research role until an adiquate replacement is found namely a delta III or IV |

Mike, is it possible if the SDK for Silent Hunter 3 is ever released
that you'll export your 3D model for the basic Whiskey into the SH3
format? The SH3 game engine IMHO would work for a nice early
1950s cold war engagement between the US and Soviets... |

Shep... you must be reading my mind, or something
i was just thinking the same thing this morning... then i saw the World Mod, and their plans for a Pacific Theatre mod, with Gato class subs...
well, why not have a post war mod with guppy class subs from the soviet and us and uk roaming the SH3 world...
yup... definitely i would contribute to that effort... modding an interior as well...
but hopefully my sim will be done and be good enough to make such a consideration redundant... hey, even if my sim gets done, this still may be something to consider though... right

Early 1950s was I think the last time we had the chance to recreate
World War II style "action filled" submarine action, with the Soviet
Union's 300~ Whiskey class boats against the US resupply convoys
to Europe.... |

The SH3 devs are asking for modders to send them 3D models, this
could be a good time to send them your WHISKEY model, even if
we use just the Type XXI Control room, it'll be a lot more immersive
for a early cold war mod... |
