AFAIK its not a standard option one can enable/disable.
Maybe you guys have admin rights, in which case the message does not always appear. Can you edit other peoples posts ?
edit edit look at the bottom of this message

Please not that MY edit did result in the additional line at the end of my post.
Of course the line only appears in case the post you are editing is NOT the LAST post of the thread.

On this type of forum, it seems you only get the "edited by" message if you edit AFTER someone else has posted.
I am typing this message only a minute or two after the line above. We'll see if it gives the message.
Nope, no message. I'll edit it again after someone else has posted.
Okay, it's several hours and two posts later, and we're testing again.
Yep, there it is now.

I think it would have worked even if you had made the "reply". |

It didn't occur to me to post a new message and reply to it myself. Short-sighted on my part, but moot now, since it looks like that's how it works. |

I Think Drebbel is correct.
If you make a post then realise you need to add or correct it after you have posted it, then IF no other post has been made after your post then the message doesn't show.
But if someone posts after you and you decide to edit your post the edit message does show. (I think) |
