Ok I know there is much talk about the being Zapped on the way to the patrol zone ----------------------------> I concede the point that Neal makes about the time compression in route to the zone ala SHII, however, I must say it takes away from the emersion factor of the game to watch a screen beam you to the zone. Sorry just doesn't feel like a capt. if I cannot plot my own course or use some strategy to reach the patrol zone safely....... (hmmm late in the war this will come even more prevalent) I know there are some hardcore simmers out there like myself who take her down to do a sound check etc........... Even when I fly I don’t like to hit the autopilot – takes the “sim” out of the game and in some respects turns it into a "get there and shoot". I’m not ready to jump on the developers just yet….. From what I can tell they have put a lot of work into this sim. Remember it’s in it’s alpha stage………… Maybe a demo would be in order down the road? I remember years back thinking we were doomed because maybe our last hope in SHII was a sinking ship. The mod community rose to the challenge and has made SHII a very playable game. Looking at the market today, I’m thankful at any attempt to create a sub game………….
