San Francisco, CA – April 13, 2004 – Ubisoft, one of the world’s largest video game publishers, today reinforces its strategy to dominate the war games market by announcing a long-term deal with award-winning developer Gearbox Software to publish a new military franchise: Brothers in Arms™. With its breakthrough squad-based combat mechanism and unprecedented realism, the first game in the series is poised to revolutionize the WWII genre when it ships on consoles and PC starting Holiday 2004.

I'm hoping it will be the next engine generation of COD and be much
more realistic. Too much of COD now is just run-n-gun arcade shooters
which, in my opinion, is not realistic at all but I think IW and the modders
are trying to correct this flaw...

Do you mean that it is good to have UBI on it, or bad?

Most definately bad, look at what at first happened to sh2/dc. Without modders, it would have been a flop.

Looks and sounds like a winnner all the way Smile , but i do hope as FAdmiral said, that realism would take part of the game, because the quake 3 engine (running and shooting around) is old for 3d games standards. I'm sure Ubisoft will craft one hell of a game.

The preview says that the game follows an actual historical squad through the battles that they really fought. That's really interesting, it's like a video game Band of Brothers. I hope that this turns out really well. With such a dedicated team and cool concept it really could.

Brother in Arms looks like a huge step in the right direction as far as I'm concerned. The next thing should be the introduction of a German campaign in games like these. Smile
