WinXP problem with this game.

I recently purchased POTC, I installed it on my PC running windows ME and it works fine, but when I installed it on my daughter's PC running XP she got an error message concerning DirectX.
I think she has DirectX v9 on her PC where I have V8 on mine, has anyone else had this problem or is there a fix?

I keep getting the "unable to initializa directx" error.
I have done all that the readme page tells me to and still it won't work. It's driving me crazy!

I use win xp, so perhaps that's like your daughter's problem?
I also have an S3 Graphics prosavageDDR and I read that many had had trouble with the game, when using that video card.
Maybe that's the problem?
