i think they should also implement a kind of score system along with a dynaminc campaign. then when you scutle a ship you get points , with these points you can get fresh or new crew or new things for yout boat like a snorkel or radar like they have done in cfs3 . or you could get a new boat with your points . this way you are really motivated to perform well and give you the feeling what your doing is worth something.

I would like to see fixed the problem of "FLAG TRANSFER" when playing on MULTI.
It would be nice to be able to command a DD and also a convoy at the same time without the risk of getting "frozen screen" when the flag transfer happens!
This would allow us to create more evolved and interesting scenarios.

Greetings to SH3 Development team

I have just one recommendation,

For me and my feeling of reality is very important realistic sound. I would appreciate different intensity of the same type of sounds depends on the situation.
For example:
- “Whispering” during the silent run, or tense situation.
- “Screaming” during the suffering of damages..
- “commanding style” during the routine orders
- maybe also “casual talks” returning to base or maneuvering back into docks
- ….

Thanks for your interest.

Life boats and crew in the water after a ship sinks. Oil and debris. Hull implosion sounds that go on for longer like in Aces of the Deep.

I would like to see some technical developments such as:

Support for multi monitors, and have pop up windows for stations and controls that can be dragged to the different monitors and left open.

Enable the use of flight yokes, joysticks and throttles to control the rudder, dive planes and engine telegraph. I dont mean to be able to control the movements as a helmsman by actually driving the boat using these controls, but instead of using the mouse to click on the dive plane guage, you can push your flight yoke forward or pull it back the desired ammount, turn the yoke to control the rudder, and use a throttle to move the engine telegraph to the desired speed. Then you can program your HOTAS, and not have to use a mouse or keyboard. A lot of people that subsim also flightsim and already have these controls set up, and it would be nice to be able to use them. A flight yoke is actually quite realistic to control the rudder and planes, at least close to the One Man Control in the diesal Oberon boat that I served on.

Have all options controlled by a slider system as is used in Microsoft Flight Simulator. This way everyone can play the sim regardless of what kind of computer they have. I have a high end PC, so I would like to have all the bells and whistles enabled. Please dont dumb down the eye candy and functions to appeal to low end computers. make this a state of the art sim!

Hi all,

Don't know if this has been suggested already ( as there were too many posts for lazy me to read Embarassed  ) but how about being able to listen to the radio whilst on the surface?

ie. tuning in to different radio stations from the period to get music and news bullitens etc, perhaps have the BBC + German transmissions to give different sides to news items/propaganda.
Failling that, how about being able to play your mp3/cd's over the ships 'gramaphone' (or whatever they were called) to ease the time on those long missions?
Oh yeh, and better manual TDC operation/ship identification/target aquisition... better details for working out manual firing solutions, bearing and range calculations.
A more user friendly multiplayer online/Lan mode would be nice too.
And lets not forget superior eye-candy and realism/Ai settings Joking
regards,
Jumpy.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned here yet, this is a LOONNNGGG thread, but appologies in advance if it has.

I would really like to see variable sea state conditions during the same mission, this is a major flaw in the realism level of SH2, for me anyway, gets a bit boring sailing on the same sea state all the time, it would also be good if these varying sea states could have an affect on the type of attack and tactics needed, as most convoys were safe from the U boat threat during storms. Maybe a barometer in the sub somewhere to give you a heads up that heavy weather is on it's way, or weather updates through the radio.

I also agree with Jumpy on the radio idea, I think the radio didn't play as big a part in the game as it should have done in SH2, as the radio was the only contact with the outside world for most U boat crews. We could have weather updates brodcast over the radio!, the need to send messages which will have a direct affect on what happens in the game, ie, shadowing a convoy and sending out regular radio reports would bring in an AI wolfpack, or later on in the war sending radio messages would bring in the allied distroyers!

Just my two cents....................

Well said Bart. It would make the game much more interesting and would definitely change your results of your mission.

Great ideas here, especially the "barometer" suggestion and different sound/voices.

Hellody to all!

What about circle runners? Those presented a considerable hazard to sailors of all nations, but have been left out of sims (as far as I know anyhow, correct me if I'm mistaken). Imagine having to crash stop or take emergency evasive action when your torpedo goes astray... Something to think about anyway.

Below some points that I would like to see in SHIII and did not read in this thread yet.

Give us the option to use real charts. With all coastal stuff/lighthouses/river mouths/ports/depths etcetera marked on it. Maybe even add a coatal-pilot booklet (if they had such a thing aboard). Would be great to use the scope to do a fix on some landmarks and to be able to draw the fixes on the chart.

Realistic sky that can be used for navigation (stars/sun). And make sure that we know what time it is, because no one knows how to get from SHII time to Greenwich Mean Time. Which is needed for good navigation.

And yes , of course I want two scopes if the boat has two. And please don't make make it avalable in the control room in case it was only available in the conning tower. I have seen several sims where the scope was simply in the wrong place.

good idea.

it would be nice to have a set of technics 1200MK2's in the sub to drop a few of the latest toe-tappin', jaw-droppin', "Trans" trax from the finest dj's of holland or germany...

heck, maybe even hold an underground (or should I say, water) rave party.

Idea

I forgot to ask you what those Rambo guys are doing in my control room

I think they do not really resemble a typical crew. I am sure you all have some authentic images of crews aboard a uboat. You better take a look at them again. And please remembr a uboat did not have a gym to work out Joking

But maybe I am too harsh, afterall this is just a pre-alfa, right ?
