If I'm going to shell out $ for Enigma they have to make it more of a simulation like SH2 and not the arcade game it is.

I just noticed this game at a local Comp store and almost bought it. Was going to ask here about it but I think you answered my question. Not enough statagy and too much graphics then? Not really a sim? Like SC?

You need to have crew members you can see and hear
it would put you in the thick of things. When your under the water in a sub and the hustle and bustle of everyone doing there jobs , would be cool plus to see real crew members running to there post when surfaced ...
and you as a player need to be able to move around if you lose some of your crew you need to be able to get to there posts ....do you remember the b17 it had crew members in it and it made you feel like you were right in there.. You need land to go to to dock and get refitted would be nice ..

Just my 2 cents:

Land
Flyable Aircraft

I think the idea of docks and land will bring a lot more realism and immersion. And to be able to run a mission involving docks would be awesome (especially in a MP envrionment). If you have seen the end scene of Das Boot or Pearl Harbour I'm sure you get the idea Smile

As a very minor wish list I would like to see a sea-bed too, though that would only be needed if shallow waters around land were bought into the game. And sun light passing down through the water giving those cool ray effects would be nice as well but I'm sure you guys have got lots more important things to worry about.

I want to be able to come in after a succesful patrol and have people throwing flowers on my deck, cheering with music. Smile And then, the night before we go out again, I want to go to one of those parties like in "Das Boot". See my crew get drunk! Laughing

Very Happy Hey I like the ideal of having FLYABLE AIRCRAFT and most of all being about to sail around the globe with one goal in mind,HUNTING! Having all acess to all the ports around the world would be thrilling and with Multi-player even more fun.! We need more room to play in I think and I know it can be done because they do it with Flight Simulation so why not with Boats, ships and Submarines. Build us a bigger PLAY BOX PLEASE!

Idea Not sure what happened to my recent reply POST but I guess someone from the top removed it because it didn't fit in with this discusion, thats ok. Anyway I will post again, first I agree with JESPER, having ports and cities to go to would be nice instead like he was saying being dropped in the middle of the ocean.I don't think back then they were yelling BEAM ME IN SCOTTY! Another add-on would be FLYABLE AIRCRAFT and then being able to control your missions with a MISSION EDITOR. Next would be seeing crew members in your ship or sub and being able to repond and recieve reponses from each one would be a cool thing too. Cruisers like in PT BOATS that you could command would be another cool thing besides a Ship or a Sub. I hope this reply is within your post guidelines of what this discussion is about, I check back in again MATE. I still have plenty of TORPEDOS left Smug

Cruisers, Cruisers, and more Cruisers!

Land comes in a close second.

Battleships completely outclass destroyers, but there were many battles in World War 2 (South Pacific) where surface action was cruisers and destroyers.

(previous post deleted due to some serious rethinking on the subject)

Cruisers(both light and heavy)

Land

TDC(if you can put it in "auto" mode as in the SH games)

Not really thrilled with the flyable A/C idea...how would promotions be handled?

Visible crewmen would bog down anything other than the absolute top of the line PCs

More classes of subs, escorts,DDs and BBs would be nice. As would having a few carrier classes per Faction.

Many people have requested for ships... particularly capital ships such as cruisers, battleships, and carriers. I think that we should not only include the capships, but that the variety should be increased all around, with multiple calsses of each ship type.

This would give players a choice, for example:
one player may prefer a vessel that utilizes a good combination of speed and firepower, while another would prefer heavier armor at the expense of speed.

Same thing goes for airplanes too.... more variety with them to.. although not as important.

Another idea might be to add rockets. I know that primitive unguided rockets existed in an operational state during the 30s and 40s, even if they wern't used to much of an extent at sea, they would add an interesting element to the game i think.

I also like the idea of a sub that can launch a few planes.... Smile

Flyable aircraft would be good.. Might bring more players too.
(Would you use a joystick? if so rumble fx is a must!)

TDC - Because I keep missing in my Sub! Thumbs Up

Land - A run through the Gap of Gibralter... You've seen Das boot Wink

Visible crew members - As long as they don't all look the same... perhaps an eye-patch :pirate:

**Being able to Launch garbage and stuff from a sub to make enemies think you've been sunk... Might be hard for MP scoring tho.
