Can anyone throw some light on this error:

The game starts ok, I hear the opening music but when I select any mission I get this error.
I have tried the configure routine plus SH2 runs ok, I'm not sure if thats related but thought I would mention it.
I see the DirectX is mentioned but wirh SH2 running I wasn't sure it was at fault.
Just noticed the date at the top, is that when I installed DC?



Came back to edit and add:

OK now, I remembered I had DirectX 8.1 install on a disk, I reinstalled it but I still got the error, I noticed it said 'LoadImg' so then I looked at the art folders but in doing so noticed there was another file called CIC that was empty but the original was saved so I deleted the empty CIC and renamed the saved original and everything seems ok now, a bit of a mystery but still it's back working again.

Loaded the "Metz mod" .... the splash screen and music came up then I selected my ongoing pacific campaign (mission one) and ...

Ok ... started the camp from scratch (no big deal - mission one was saved at the beginning) and it works fine. Musta been a glitch from the old format or something.

Crying or Very sad
Have just installed des_5_v3.zip & historical_depth_charges_lethal_radius_mod_v1.0.zip.
Have backup of original 'units' and 'system' folders so I can undo this addition, but what went wrong? help! I was looking forward to slightly better surviveability when going up against DD's Sad

EDIT: single-player missions still work, but my existing campaign crashes every time

I just received this error today trying to play the "Oil" mission in the Pacific side of the default campaign.

Anyone know what caused this?


I'm getting the same error, and after I found and downloaded the correct file from UbiSoft.

This is seriously limiting my enjoyment of the game since there's no way to tell the game to "skip" over the faulty mission. I'd rather play the Pacific campaign since it's got the surface ships that I find interesting.

Regardless, anyone know what could be causing this error with the fixed file, or am I SOL?

Can play single missions OK-but whenever I try a generated campaign-I get:

I just did a complete reinstall of SHII. After installing several mods I got the following message when I tried to start a scenario:

Macstu23 posted the same message early in this thread, and said it was a 'dodgy' Pyro file. I've tried everything I can think of; I'm using pretty much the same files I had before, and have no idea what's going on.

[Edit] Never mind. I reloaded the Vickers' mods, and it works now.

wth does this mean??
i then installed the patch which just made the game menus disappear, or scroll complete gibberish.

i have reinstalled dirext x twice and have even reinstalled the latest drivers for my graphics card.

Any help will be greatly received..

GREAT! Now all of a sudden when I load up the game, I get the movie, but it has no sound. Then I get the
