and looking at the bad press this game is getting right now i wouldnt expect SH4 to happen at all, at best you'll get an addon to the current game that fixes the bugs that should'nt have been here in the first place. |
what bad press?? |

He must be referring to the one or two problems that have been overblown.
As for lacking features people would of liked - that can hardly be attributed to this game alone. People are just so demanding because it's a simulation. |

All surface ships hate all submarines by definition.....
All submarines considere surface ships targets by definition...
SH IV must be the Pacific version of SH III and now I go back to my game...

Actually, in the early days of the Silent Service, Limey submariners were regarded as pariahs by other servicemen, due to the British affinity towards "honorable" set-peice battles. Subs were seen as an underhanded and dishonorable way to fight, and their crews were considered social outcasts by the surface fleet sailors. |

I remember reading a mention of Destroyer command 2 somewhere. So if they already working on SH4, then DC2 may lead off if SH4 is a sucess.
Though this also depends on SH3 being a success. |

It makes perfect sense for them to already decide to make SH4. They know SH3 will sell well. Since all the hard work of programming is already done, all they have to do is change the game from Atlantic operations to Pacific operations and presto, they have another product that they know will sell. And all they will have to do is tweak it a little here and there, put in Pacific ports, modify the ship models, and it is a new product on the shelves. I bet it will have the same look as SH3 with pretty much the same features. They have already done most of the hard work. Now it's just a matter of reconfiguring it for a Pacific war. |

I also hope for a PTO for SH4. Aces of the Deep was my first subsim, then SH. I was disappointed in SH that I just appeared at my patrol area even though it was a large area.
Same problem with SH2 with the added aggravation of being told to sink destroyers and aircraft carriers or fail the mission. I can tell you SH2 only stayed on my comp for a week. While the other 2 lasted well over a year apiece. |
