Damn that is soo cool!, you are a lucky guy to go on such a ride.
Can you tell a little about the sub? knots surfaced/submerged, diving mechanism, max depht etc.
I am a bit fascinated by this stuff, its been a childhood dream of mine to build something like that, but i guess money would be a partypooper lol. |

Sure, ill tell you what I know.
Kraka is a diesel/electric sub with a snorkel. The snorkel design is actully a ripoff from the german WWII subs.
Shes 12,6 meters long, can reach speeds of 7 knots on the surface and 4 knots submerged..
She has 4 balasttanks. 2 forward and 2 at the stern.
She has forward diveplanes, but none at the back.
She has an onboard compresor, so when the diesel in running she can build up compressed air for diving.
Max depth is about 20 meters.
At the bottom she has a diving hatch so divers can enter at exit the sub even if its submerged.
She has a digital periscope, as you can see in some of the videos. |

That was really cool! Thanks for sharing! How long can it stay submerged on a single battery charge? Do you know how long it takes to recharge the batteries? |

Thanks for sharing McBeck...looks like alot of fun.
Its funny too... there is a guy I went to school with that constructs these subs on that same site. I used to buy my school books from him. He used to save me alot of money. I remember watching him test his first sub out on campus. He has recently built a second one and is giving tours with it in Hondoras.
His submersibles are on same site:
First Submarine tested at school...

Second submarine project...

His website where he now gives tours...
http://www.stanleysubmarines.com/
Note the depths of his subs....
one goes 750 ft (230 meters) and the other 2020ft (615 meters) |

Because of the shallow waters we only went to 10 meters, but it will easily go to 25 meters.
Displacement...hmmm...cant remember, ill have to get back to you on that one. |
