I notice that the region of Polyarnyy and Severomorsk are now in high resolution, we can see some russian submarines at dock.
(sorry if repost but the search tools reveal nothing about this)

I'd say higher resolution. Still not tip top, compare Polyarny to Portsmouth Harbour UK and you'll see that the RN ships are a lot better in detail.

A shame as at one of the bases you can see the outline of 3 Typhoons.

I agree with Xabba. The resolution is higher but still not at the levels that show UK and US. Look at Norfolk, you can see some carriers, Arleigh Burkes and Tico's. Even a few 688's. Same with San Diego.

Do my eye's deceive me or do I see an Akula in dock at Polyarnny? Too bad the resolution wasn't higher for Vladivostok and Petro in the Pacific.

Polyarnyy - 69.11' 40.77" N , 33.28' 50.38" E: Look to the Northwest of these coordinates to see the Russian Subs.

Severomorsk - 69.03' 55.19" N , 33.25' 46.68" E : Look to the North towards Vaenga Bay to see some ships in harbor.

Also in Google Earth, you can type the name of any location in the Search field on the top left, and it will take you there. Ping

Cheers. Thumbs Up
