And a reply from Moose1am on the Sonalysts forum, perhaps it helps you in any way.

I am relatively new to DW but I have been a gamer for over ten years.

Some general things come to my mind when reading about your problem.

1) corrupted download. Did you have any accellerator programs running when you downloaded or installed DW. Shut down any other programs that are running in memory and then reboot. Clear your tmp files before rebooting. Now RE-DOWNLOAD the game.

Uninstall the game completely. Make sure that you also check to make sure that the DW directory is gone after you use the uninstall program. You can also uninstall DW from the Control Panels add/remove programs.

Reboot.

Now take the newly downloaded game and make sure that nothing is running in memory on your computer other than the OS. ie shut down any virus checking programs that run in the background. Shut down any ohter programs before you try to insall any new game. That includes DW.

If you fail to to the above then sometimes you can get a bad install of any game. This may not be true in all things but it's a good general rule to follow when loading up new games.

If you have followed all these suggestions above then I don't know what else to tell you.

End all is a program that can be used to shut other programs down. Or the windows task manager. I generally run ZAP and McAfee. I have to go into each of those programs and shut them down so that they don't start back up when I reboot my system.

Many times when installing a new game these virus checking programs can interfer with a download or the installion of the game.

Just had two CTD's one whilst playing a mission which I had modified. (the Heli demo mission, I added more subs to hunt and also added the P-3 and made the OHP Driveable) . That crash generated this error report :

AppName: dangerouswaters.exe AppVer: 0.1.0.3 ModName: dangerouswaters.exe
ModVer: 0.1.0.3 Offset: 000a9dee

And today I was mucking about with the mission editor and whilst panning the camera about in the 3d veiw of a ship that was placed it CTD'd and I got this error report.

AppName: dangerouswaters.exe AppVer: 0.1.0.3 ModName: dangerouswaters.exe
ModVer: 0.1.0.3 Offset: 000e40ba

I have not added any mods to the game. my system specs :

AMD 1800+ XP (1.5 Ghz)
512 MB Ram
ATI Radeon 9600 pro (256MB) (driver version 6.1)
Windows XP + SP2

The game runs beautifully except for these CTD's Damn . Which happen often enough to be annoying. Great Game tho!!

I hope this info helps you to make it even better! Rock

this error just happened when I exited the editor. I clicked on exit and it CTD'd.

AppName: dangerouswaters.exe AppVer: 0.1.0.3 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 0b661daf

Doesnt happen very often. I just thought this time I would post the error report.

So...from what it looks like, regular missions work fine for you, but whenever you either access the editor, or use an edited mission, it CTD's? :hmm:

That does seem to be the area which causes the CTD's.

But there might be a session where I am going in and out of the editor as I fix problems with little senario's that I make for myself where it will perform without problems.

I have started to retain the error reports in a text file . not that I have had any since my last post.

I am happy to report that most of the problems I have ecountered with the editor is to try not to place the platforms too far apart.

Any just to recap these CTD's happen either when playing a modified or original mission (so far it hasnt happened when playing the original campaign) and when exiting the editor. And one crash happened inside the editor when I was panning the 3d view around.

Okay this is an error I have gotten before when playing Bill's RSR campaign . It happens during the convoy escorting mission.

I get about 20-25 mins into the mission and then the game CTD's with this error message :

AppName: dangerouswaters.exe AppVer: 0.1.0.3 ModName: towedarray.dll
ModVer: 0.1.0.0 Offset: 0000635a

I dont know if it is the scenario causing this or what. I havent heard of anyone else reporting it so maybe it is just my machine.

Just before the crash the sonar kept picking up and dropping a passive contact. It did this about 15 times before finally crashing.

Hope this helps. Neutral\

Ok guys need some help.
Been playing for awhile, usually no big problems.
For the last few days, everytime I play my system freezes.
Not a CTD, just freezes, unable to make any entries, ctl+alt+del doesnt work, nothing, must manually reboot.
Typically about 10-15 minutes into a game.
No difference if MP or single, many different maps.
USing 1.03 or LWAMI Mod, same problem.
No other problems with system ,runs for hours without a hiccup.

Specs:
HP LAptop
AMD64 3500
1GB Pc3200 Ram
Radeon Xpress200 GPU
Windows XP SP2

All firewalls, spybots, etc off.
Any ideas, getting frustrated...
Thanks,
Swims
