I bought today a budget ship (19€) sim from a small German publisher, it's called Ship Simulator 2006.
Here I must stear the RMS Titanic into the modern harbour of Hamburg (Germany)
Cross-winds and sea drift are well simulated!
I can also walk free on the ship but not inside:8
Different missions, ships and an editor are included |

Looks good! Is it just harbour dockings or can you do longer sailings ala VS? |

No only harbour missions, included are Hamburg, Rotterdam and Phi Phi Island.
The 3D engine is limited to small areas, it's based on the VSTEP VR engine

It looks good in did.
However pity that doesn't create more envolvment...
I remember a very old game where you could build/manage, even pilot one of your ships in your fleet. Where you could enhance the ships, upgrade to new models and dock/un-dock them from the harbours.
Pity that this one lacks (the gameplay is too reduced)... so might end-up be boring prety fast despite the good graphics.
It needs more stuff to become more attractive. |
