I really had a lot of fun playing the first three missions of the Perisher camp (thanks Clive, Wink ) but mission four is quite a tough one, at least for me...
I just can't find a way to get rid of the Type 22 Brilliant. No matter what I do, fast or slow deep or not, whatever the direction I take, I always get conterdetected!

Any help would be much appreciated...
Thanks guys,

DS

This is the one when you need to sneek up on a boomer right? Try letting the ship go by when hiding behind a shallow area, then sneek out and nab that boomer.

Thanks TLAM for your quick reply Wink

Actually the mission you are refering to is mission 3 (SSBN Interdiction). A tricky one indeed, which needs a good timing...

I have a problem with mission 4 (SBSRecovery):
"...your objective in this exercise is to approach the eastern shores of the Isle of Skye and recover a SBS team without being detected - A surface group is searching for you. Approach the recovery area and locate the SBS team visually. Rendezvous within .5NM and stop to allow the SBS to board..."

The exercice area, east of the Isle of Skye (Scotland), is rather narrow: 10-15 nM.
The recovery area is situated approximately 13 nM south of my position and there is a Type 22 batch1 (Brilliant) patrolling halfway, active sonar on, and heading north.

Whether I try to sneak slowly in or attempt to run north to stay away from the sonar, I always end up counterdetected. Confused
Actually, it seems impossible to raise speed nor make a turn without being detected.

If someone found a way to get in, I'd be curious to know it...

Glad you like the missions, and the 4th is the most difficult. It can be done, although it is so long since I tried it I've forgotten the exact approach myself! If I remember you need to run away from the target area towards the west, then sneak back in fairly quickly once the surface ship turns away and you are outside its sonar cone.

OK, just passed the Perisher! Cool

Going west was the trick... I didn't succeed on the first try though, and I had some real hard time finding the appropriate moment to initiate the turn; that bloody sonar is very close!

Thanks Clive for the tip and for the fun. Thumbs Up I loved those Scottish Sounds!!

I wonder if someone could clear this up, in the second mission I get confirmation that I am in range to attack the Walrus, I flood the tube and open the bow doors to simulate an attack.

But nothing happens next thing I am counter detected the fact that I am within the 3 mile zone.

Am I missing something....Thanks

Sorted and now onto SBS recovery Rock
