Hi, I am a new user concerning sh3 V 1.4b with mod "Improved U-Boat "
Today I am looking for a really detailed description and explanation for sh3 mission editor.
Where can I find this stuff? Is anyone able to help me and give information on that matter?

I am creating a flotilla in the Brest habour with low success. :shifty: Crying or Very sad

Hoping in answer. Thanks a lot! Rolling Eyes

Here the next question and next trial:

Still hoping there are some masters around. :hmm:

@ booger2005

I have red this manual, but I found no explanation for the matter: arrange group!
After I have collected a group of ships together, maybe five, I normaly arrange the group as I want.
Then after right clicking a window opens for instructions. Here is written at last place the instruction:
"arrange group".
If I open the instruction I see: Formation columns No. ?
and can set a number, for instance 1,2 ect.
For what is this for?

I expirienced, that with higer numbers mission editor broke down. Why? :dead:

Regards :hulk:

Arrange group works like this for merchants and large warships. "Formation Columns No" is the number of columns that your convoy will have. Lets say all 5 of your ships are facing UP on this page, and let X represent a ship.

Formation Columns No = 1

X

X

X

X

X

Formation Columns No = 2

X X

X X

X

Formation Columns No = 3

X X

Formation Columns No = 4

X

Formation Columns No = 5

So you see, you can't have more columns than you do ships. If you enter a number that is more than the number of ships you have, the mission editior will throw an exception and crash to desktop, as you suggested. So don't do it.

So "Formation Columns No" sets a shape for your convoy.

"Formation Spacing" simply sets the distance between ships. The minimum is 300, but in practice numbers like 500 or more give less chance of causing problems with collision avoidance AI.

For escort warships, the "Arrange Group" does something different. It automatically places these escorts in a defensive screen around the merchants and large warships at a distance of 1-2 km.
